Scribe

The scribe is a very important position, critical to the accurate recording of the dog's agility performance. The judge will brief the scribe on the day of the event, but here are some items to review before the trial.

1. The judge will advise you where to stand. All faults are given by hand signals, so you must be in a position to see the hand signals.

2. The first duty at the beginning of each run is to be sure that the number/name on your scribe sheet matches that of the exhibitor. Do not guess! If there is any question, stop until the issue is resolved.

3. Always watch the judge, not the dog.

4. An explanation of the hand signals will be given to you on the day of the show.

5. At the end of the run, the timer will give you the dog's time. Record it exactly as he/she gives it to you, ex: 1:20:6.

6. The entire class should be recorded by the same scribe.
